Lofa Consulting required a unified platform to deliver NDIS training to both support workers and participants. Existing processes relied heavily on manual and paper-based systems, resulting in:

Compliance gaps and audit risks

Poor accessibility and usability for diverse learner needs

Support workers struggled to access training materials consistently, while managers lacked reliable data to monitor performance, compliance, and skill development across teams.

Our Solution

We designed and developed a purpose-built NDIS Learning Management System using a design-first, user-centred approach. The platform was informed by direct research with support workers, participants, and service coordinators to ensure accessibility, clarity, and real-world usability.

Design-First Process

We followed our collaborative design-first methodology, ensuring Lofa Consulting remained an active partner throughout the project.

1. Discovery & Research

We conducted in-depth user research with NDIS support workers, participants, and service coordinators. This phase focused on: User personas and learning behaviours, End-to-end learning journey mapping, Accessibility requirements and compliance considerations, Pain points in existing training workflows.

2. Wireframing & Prototyping

Interactive wireframes and prototypes were developed with accessible navigation and clear course structures. These were: Presented to stakeholders and learner focus groups, Refined through collaborative workshops, Validated against real training scenarios.

3. UI/UX Design

High-fidelity designs were created with accessibility at the core. Iterative feedback sessions ensured: WCAG-aligned layouts and interactions, Clear information hierarchy, A learning experience suitable for all users. Final designs were approved by key stakeholders before development.

4. Development Handoff

We delivered detailed design specifications, accessibility guidelines, and a reusable component library to the development team. Close collaboration continued throughout implementation to ensure design integrity and usability.
